Lucile Fritz, 88, Indianapolis, passed away January 14, 2012. She was born May 24, 1923, in Losantville, the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes (Smith) Johnson.
She was a 1944 graduate of Earlham College with degrees in public school music, piano, and English. She taught for several years in Indiana public schools. She was a charter member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was organist for nine years and assistant organist for several additional years. Her affiliations were Bible Study Fellowship, PED sisterhood, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Goodwill Service Guild.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Cecil M. Fritz, children, John (Linda) Fritz, Indianapolis; Susan Leigh Schweig, Princeton, NJ; Marcia (David) Mason, Dayton, OH; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Johnson, Jr.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012, at The Forum at the Crossing, 8505 Woodfield Crossing Boulevard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Epworth United Methodist Church Music Fund or to VistaCare Hospice.
