Emma Richie Weber, 87, Indianapolis, passed away November 10, 2011. She was born December 29, 1923, in Hazelton, IN, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Ross) Richie. She married Robert Weber on April 20, 1944, and he preceded her in passing on April 4, 1987. Emma resided at Crestwood Village North.
Emma attended school in Washington, IN, and graduated from Shortridge High School. She retired from the downtown L.S. Ayres after over 30 years of service. She then worked at the Ben Franklin in Brownsburg until their closing.
She was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church, a 35 year member and Past-President of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and she was a volunteer for the Riley Cheer Guild which makes Puppy Pillows for Riley Children's Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Richard) Jenkins and Barbara (Stephen) Topper; two granddaughters, Shelley Jenkins and Anne (Michael) Kruchten; and one great grandson, Luis Kruchten. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Jenkins; three brothers, James, Charles, and George; and a sister, Marjorie.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Riley Children's Foundation.
