Aric (Ric) James Andresen, noted Indianapolis sign painter passed on November 3rd.
His memorial gathering will be this Saturday, November 12th, at 12:00 noon to 1:00 with calling 10:30 to noon, refreshments directly after - at Flanner and Buchanan, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue. All are welcome and invited to attend.
Everyone has been shocked by Ric Andresen's passing, which occurred at St. Vincent's hospital last Thursday, after suffering a heart attack while waiting for surgery the next day for a heart valve replacement.
Ric had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful father, son, brother and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Pennie Andresen, adult sons Christopher and Matthew Andresen, father Karl Andresen, younger brother Jon Andresen and sister Kristina Andresen.
An Indianapolis native, Ric was well known in the real estate community, providing all types of commercial signs for the industry. Andresen Signs was created in 1974. The business began with a specialization in hand painted signs and progressed to today with computer generated vinyl cut letters and graphics. As a young businessman, Ric's client base quickly grew and so did his expertise with hand painted custom gold leaf lettering for banks and large custom sign formats. He became a bit famous painting accurate pictorials of 8' x 8' record album covers on record store facades and architectural project signs with richly detailed graphics of buildings.
Ric and his sons Christopher and Matthew and their employees, have always felt fortunate to have serviced so many loyal customers over the years and their sign shop is set up to continue to do so for years to come, with Christopher as the principal of the corporation.
He was a hard working person throughout his life in business; but, also had many interests including music and animals (he had quite a variety of snakes and lizards from childhood through the present) and donated many long hours of work over the years to dog rescue organizations. Next to his family, he dearly loved his dogs Ian, Emily and Hunter and enjoyed taking them for long walks on the Monon and drives in the car, until his heart problem caused him to slow down.
Ric's family invites you to join them with friends and colleagues – in a memorial gathering this Saturday, November 12th, at Flanner and Buchanan, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue, 317.475.4475. Calling = 10:30 to 12:00, Remembrance 12:00 to 1:00. Refreshments following.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you consider a donation to Ric's favorite organization – 'Our Lil' Bit of Heaven', which is a dog rescue facility.
He found his dog Hunter while donating his time at the organization.
Thank you from the Andresen Family
and please consider posting your memories and pictures of Ric -
we will enjoy reading them.
